Accra, Ghana – Ghana is increasingly losing ground in its battle against illegal mining, commonly known as “galamsey,” which is wreaking havoc on the nation’s cocoa farms. As the world’s second-largest producer of cocoa, Ghana has seen a troubling decline in cocoa production, with the relentless activities of illegal miners exacerbating the situation.
