- Petroleum revenues drop by $158 million YoY despite increased production
- Cameroon seeks $761.4 million from international markets to settle domestic debts
Yaoundé, Cameroon – Revenues from petroleum fell below expectations in Cameroon, according to a report published by the finance ministry earlier this week. The central African country earned $1.4 billion in revenues from oil and gas (royalties and taxes) in 2023. Despite an overall increase in production last year, revenues were $158 million less year-on-year, which the authorities attribute to a decline in global oil and gas prices.
