- Mine revivals signal renewed investor confidence
LUSAKA, ZAMBIA – Zambia’s copper production rose 8% in 2025, beating the previous year as output surged at key mines, reinforcing the country’s push to reclaim its place among Africa’s top copper producers.
Zambia produced 890,345.79 tonnes of copper in 2025, up from 825,513.01 tonnes in 2024, according to data released by the Ministry of Mines and Mineral Development. The increase was driven largely by higher output at Konkola Copper Mine (KCM), Mopani Copper Mine, Kansanshi and Lubambe mines.
