IMF warns of looming reserve crisis in Central Africa

  • CEMAC reserve cover could fall to 3.1 months by 2030

The International Monetary Fund has warned of a deteriorating financial outlook in the Central African Economic and Monetary Community (CEMAC), cautioning that without bolder fiscal consolidation and urgent policy action, the region could face dangerously low foreign reserves and intensifying currency risks.
