  • Rwanda says it is closely monitoring the contractor to avoid further setbacks

 

KIGALI, RWANDA – Rwanda’s flagship Nyabarongo II hydropower project, backed by a $214 million loan from China’s Exim Bank, has been hit by financial constraints and technical setbacks that will push completion from 2025 to 2028.
