Gabon Issues Oil Permits to Boost Declining Production

  • Gabon grants oil permits to BW Energy, Vaalco Energy, and Panoro Energy amid falling output
  • New exploration projects include substantial investments to increase local expertise and sustain production

Gabon has awarded two oil exploitation permits to a consortium of three companies as the government seeks to reverse a trend of declining oil production. BW Energy (37.5%), Vaalco Energy (37.5%), and Panoro Energy (25%) have received the rights to operate in the Niosi and Guduma Marin blocks, located off Gabon’s coast.
