ACCRA, GHANA — Ghana’s push to become a major player in the global lithium race has entered a decisive new phase after Atlantic Lithium approved a deal handing Zhejiang Huayou Cobalt greater control over the Ewoyaa Lithium Project.

The arrangement, which transfers Elevra’s 22.5% interest in the project to Chinese battery metals giant Zhejiang Huayou Cobalt, removes major financing uncertainty surrounding Ewoyaa and accelerates the path toward Ghana’s first lithium mine.
