TUNIS, TUNISIATunisia’s annual inflation edged lower in January, extending a gradual disinflation trend after two years of sharp price shocks that hit households hard.

Year-on-year consumer prices slowed to 4.8% in January, from 4.9% in December, according to data released by the National Institute of Statistics (NIS). The reading followed three consecutive months at 4.9% and marks the lowest inflation rate recorded since February 2017, when prices rose 4.7%.
