  • Senegal anticipates significant oil and gas revenues following the start of production at the Sangomar field
  • Authorities aim to use resources for national development and anti-corruption measures.

Dakar, Senegal – Senegal expects to generate approximately $900 million in oil and gas revenues between 2025 and 2027, according to official estimates.

Last month, Senegal joined the ranks of oil-producing nations when Woodside Energy, an Australian-based energy company, announced the commencement of production at the offshore Sangomar field, located about 100 kilometres south of Dakar. Discovered in 2014, the project required $5 billion in investment but faced delays due to financial issues and strategic changes.
