Namibia’s Inflation Slows, But Price Pressures Persist

  • Consumer price growth eased to 3.6% in February, down from 5.0% a year earlier
  • Rising food costs and urban price disparities suggest households may not feel relief

Namibia’s inflation cooled in February as the Consumer Price Index (NCPI) dropped to 3.6% from 5.0% in February 2024, data from the Namibia Statistics Agency (NSA) showed on Thursday. The slowdown was driven by lower transport and alcohol costs, along with stable prices for fuel, electricity, gas, clothing, footwear, and household goods.
