Kenya central bank cuts rate to three-year low as bad loans fall

Nairobi, KenyaKenya’s central bank cut its benchmark interest rate to a more than three-year low on Tuesday, citing stronger bank balance sheets and a steady recovery in private-sector credit growth.

The Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) of the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) lowered the Central Bank Rate (CBR) by 25 basis points to 8.75%, marking its tenth consecutive cut in the current easing cycle.
