ADDIS ABABA, ETHIOPIA – The International Monetary Fund has approved a fresh $261 million disbursement to Ethiopia, signalling confidence in reforms while warning that debt restructuring and foreign exchange credibility remain critical tests.

The IMF’s Executive Board on January 16 completed the fourth review of Ethiopia’s $3.4 billion Extended Credit Facility, bringing total financing under the programme to about $2.18 billion.
