  • Farmers across nine cocoa-growing regions call for subsidised sales of agrochemicals over free distribution
  • Persistent delays in delivery threaten Ghana’s cocoa output as production targets are lowered

Accra, Ghana – Cocoa farmers across Ghana’s major growing regions are growing increasingly vocal about the government’s free agrochemical distribution scheme, criticising persistent delays and erratic supplies that they say leave crops vulnerable. In a bold twist, farmers from all nine cocoa-producing regions are now pushing for a shift to subsidised sales, believing this could secure a more reliable and timely supply of the critical chemicals needed to protect their fields.
