Consumer price pressures in Mozambique intensified in February as annual inflation rose to 4.74% from 4.00% recorded in the same month last year, according to data released Tuesday by the Mozambique National Institute of Statistics. Higher costs for staples such as tomatoes, horse mackerel, maize grain, and butter beans, alongside price increases in mobile phones and restaurant meals, drove the surge.
