Consumer prices in Cameroon eased by 0.2% in January, marking the country’s first monthly decline in a year, according to data released on Wednesday by the national statistics agency. The slowdown follows a 0.6% increase in December and was largely driven by a 0.5% drop in the prices of fresh vegetables, fruits, meats, and seafood. Transport costs also declined by 0.3%, while slight decreases were recorded in clothing, footwear, leisure, and culture categories.
