GABORONE, BOTSWANA – Botswana’s inflation edged up to 3.9% in December 2025, highlighting mounting pressure from transport and food costs even as falling utility prices helped contain overall price growth.
Annual inflation rose from 3.8% in November to 3.9% in December, according to Statistics Botswana, reflecting higher prices for transport, food and non-alcoholic beverages, and household-related services. The data point to persistent underlying inflationary pressure as the country heads into 2026.
