GABORONE, BOTSWANA – Botswana’s economy rebounded sharply in the third quarter of 2025, ending a prolonged recession as diamond production and mining activity surged, official data showed.

Botswana’s gross domestic product grew by 8.2% year on year in the third quarter of 2025, snapping six consecutive quarters of contraction, according to data released by Statistics Botswana.
