- Africa holds under 1% of global data capacity
- Demand could exceed supply by 300%
ABIDJAN, IVORY COAST – Africa’s data centre deficit is fast becoming its biggest digital opportunity, as governments and investors race to build infrastructure for a rapidly expanding online population.
Despite hosting 229 operational data centres with a combined capacity of 300MW, the continent still accounts for less than 1% of global data centre capacity, according to Africa Data Centres.
