Senegal’s Mining Windfall Lifts Budget Revenues, EITI Data Shows

  • Mining contributed 79% of total revenue, led by gold production and exports

Dakar, Senegal – Senegal’s extractive industries generated 236.6 billion CFA francs ($410 million) in the first half of 2024, according to a new report from the country’s Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) committee. Of this, 225.5 billion CFA francs ($391 million) was transferred directly to the national budget.
