DAR ES SALAAM, TANZANIA – Tanzania’s president has appointed her daughter and son-in-law to senior government positions, reigniting criticism of entrenched political nepotism across East Africa.
President Samia Suluhu Hassan announced the appointments on 10 November, naming her daughter, Wanu Hafidh Ameir, as Deputy Minister for Education and her son-in-law, Mohamed Mchengerwa, as Minister of Health.
