Abuja, Nigeria – A political battle in Nigeria’s oil heartland is threatening to destabilise the country’s economic lifeline. In Rivers State, home to the nation’s largest crude exports, a power struggle between Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, has escalated into a high-stakes confrontation that could disrupt oil production and imperil the 2025 budget.
