Nigeria’s Inflation Rate Climbs to 34.19% in June

  • Food prices and a weaker currency drive inflation surge

Abuja, Nigeria – Nigeria’s annual inflation rate continued its upward climb in June to 34.19%, largely driven by food prices and a weaker currency. This compares with 33.95% recorded in May, according to data released July 15 by the National Bureau of Statistics.
