Maputo, Mozambique – Mozambique’s fuel crisis, which began in late 2024, has intensified over the past two months, significantly disrupting businesses, especially in transport and logistics sectors. In the capital Maputo, most petrol stations were closed or operating at reduced capacity for two consecutive days this week, highlighting the growing severity of shortages. However, conditions appear most dire in the central city of Beira and northern hubs Nampula and Pemba.
