Ghana’s Jubilee oil field lifts output as Kosmos secures licence extensions

  • Jubilee output to hit nearly 70,000 bopd as new well comes online
  • Ghana licences extended to 2040; LNG cargoes set to nearly double

 

ACCRA, GHANA – Ghana’s flagship Jubilee oil field is set for a production boost in early 2026 after a new producer well was completed, as operator Kosmos Energy also secured long-term licence extensions.

The second producer well in the 2025–2026 Jubilee field development campaign, known as J-74, has been successfully drilled and completed and is expected to come online shortly, Kosmos Energy said in a statement.
