  • GIADEC allocates two new bauxite hills, aiming to increase production from 1 million MT to 5 million MT annually
  • Expansion aligns with plans to develop a 1.6 million MT per annum alumina refinery, enhancing value from local resources

Accra, Ghana – The Ghana Integrated Aluminium Development Corporation (GIADEC) has allocated two additional bauxite hills to Ghana Bauxite Company Ltd. (GBC), expanding its current operations from three to five mining sites. This strategic move is expected to raise GBC’s production capacity from 1 million metric tonnes (MT) per annum to a projected 5 million MT, positioning Ghana as a stronger player in the global bauxite market.
