  • Addis Ababa warns actions amount to “outright aggression”

 

ADDIS ABABA, ETHIOPIAEthiopia has accused Eritrea of occupying its territory and backing militant groups, warning that recent military moves risk pushing the Horn of Africa neighbours back towards conflict.

In a letter dated 7 February, Ethiopian Foreign Minister Gedion Timothewos urged Asmara to immediately withdraw its forces and halt cooperation with rebel groups, while signalling openness to negotiations on broader political and maritime issues.
