  • SCZone still dwarfed by lost canal revenues

CAIRO, EGYPTEgypt is doubling down on industrialisation along the Suez Canal, betting billions that factories—not ships—will anchor its next phase of growth.

Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly on Thursday inaugurated nine new industrial projects in the Sokhna Industrial Zone, pushing total investments in the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) beyond $6.5bn.
