Yaoundé, Cameroon – Cameroon’s President Paul Biya, signed last week an ordinance to institute a 538 billion CFA francs ($876.4 million) supplementary budget. This move, which plans to increase taxes and contract more foreign loans, has attracted widespread criticism from opposition lawmakers, politicians, and social commentators.
