Rwanda’s inflation accelerated in February as the Consumer Price Index rose to 3.8% from 3.2% a year earlier, driven by rising food and service costs. Meat, milk, cheese, and eggs saw price increases, along with transport, education, and hospitality. A 4.9% drop in vegetable prices failed to offset the surge. The spike comes as the UK, Germany, and Canada cut aid to pressure Rwanda over tensions with the Democratic Republic of Congo, adding strain to trade routes and supply chains.
