Accra, Ghana – Ghana’s oil sector has reached a new milestone, recording its highest-ever half-year petroleum revenue since production kicked off in 2010. According to the Public Interest and Accountability Committee (PIAC), petroleum receipts soared to $840.77 million in the first half of 2024—a substantial 55.6% jump from $540.46 million in the same period last year. This record-breaking revenue is largely attributed to a 10.7% surge in crude oil output, which climbed from 22.45 million barrels in early 2023 to 25.86 million barrels this year.
