Yaoundé, Cameroon – Cameroon’s customs officers intercepted a large stockpile of illegal war ammunition headed from the north to the capital, Yaoundé, marking a critical anti-smuggling success amid the country’s rising security concerns. The seizure, comprising 3,144 high-grade bullets, was made on October 28, 2024, near Ngaoundéré, approximately 800 kilometres from Yaoundé. The ammunition was concealed in a public transport bus on the Maroua-Yaoundé route, according to government sources.
