Accra, Ghana – Ghana’s Organised Labour has issued a 19-day ultimatum to the government, demanding a comprehensive ban on all mining activities in forest reserves and near water bodies, regardless of their legal status. The announcement was made by Joshua Ansah, General Secretary of the Trade Union Congress of Ghana (TUC), during a press conference in Accra on Wednesday.
