China signed a memorandum of understanding with Tanzania and Zambia for the $1 billion rehabilitation of the railway connecting the two countries. The agreement was signed by Chinese President Xi Jinping, Tanzania’s President Samia Hassan, and Zambia’s President Hakainde Hichilema during a ceremony in Beijing on September 4, as part of the 5th summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation.
