Lagos, Nigeria – Nigeria’s aging oil pipelines are in desperate need of repair, but the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC) is strapped for cash, making it difficult to undertake the extensive work required, according to Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Heineken Lokpobiri. The minister stressed that while boosting oil production is critical, the effort hinges on overhauling the country’s crumbling pipeline infrastructure, which has long outlived its lifespan.
