NAIROBI, KENYA — France is aggressively repositioning itself in Africa, turning to Anglophone countries after its influence sharply deteriorated across parts of Francophone West Africa.
The shift was on full display at the Africa Forward Summit in Nairobi, co-hosted by Kenya and France between May 11 and 12, where French President Emmanuel Macron unveiled a sweeping $27 bn investment plan targeting energy transition, agriculture and artificial intelligence across the continent.
