- Regional trade gains importance amid global uncertainty
KIGALI, RWANDA – Rwanda’s exports to the East African Community nearly doubled in late 2025, highlighting a strategic shift towards regional trade as global markets remain uncertain.
Data from the National Institute of Statistics of Rwanda (NISR) shows exports to the bloc reached about $54.6 million in the fourth quarter of 2025, up from $27.8 million in the same period a year earlier – an increase of more than 96%.
