ADDIS ABABA, ETHIOPIAEthiopia is edging toward financial close on its first utility-scale renewable energy public-private partnership, marking a shift toward privately financed infrastructure.

International lenders have advanced due diligence on the $620 million Aysha 1 Wind Power Project, a 300-megawatt development in the Somali Regional State that is set to become “Ethiopia’s first privately financed” renewable energy independent power producer.
