Tunisia inflation holds at 4.9% in November as food prices drive pressure

  • Inflation steady at lowest level since March 2021
  • Food costs rise, while edible oil prices plunge

 

TUNIS, TUNISIA – Consumer prices in Tunisia were flat in November, with headline inflation holding at 4.9 percent, the lowest level recorded in the country since March 2021, official data showed.

Tunisia’s National Institute of Statistics (INS) said in its Consumer Price Index report that food prices remained the main source of inflationary pressure, even as overall price growth stabilised.
