ABIDJAN, IVORY COAST – Ivory Coast has approved 13 new mining exploration permits, reinforcing its push to become a leading West African mining destination.
The four-year permits, authorised by the Ministry of Mines, Petroleum and Energy, focus mainly on gold exploration, underlining the metal’s dominance in the country’s mining portfolio. However, the approvals also cover strategic minerals including iron, aluminium, copper and coltan.
