  • Headline inflation rose to 3.4% in August, the highest since June 2023
  • Food costs remained the main driver despite easing fuel and staple prices

 

DAR ES SALAAM, TANZANIA – Tanzania’s annual inflation edged up to 3.4% in August 2025 from 3.3% in July, reaching its highest level in 14 months, official data showed.
