Senegal pledges structural energy price cuts with GTA gas launch

Dakar, Senegal – Senegalese President Bassirou Diomaye Faye visited the Grand Tortue Ahmeyim (GTA) gas platform Friday, alongside Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, marking a milestone in the region’s energy ambitions. As the active phase of gas exploitation begins, Faye pledged a structural reduction in energy prices, with 20% to 25% of GTA’s output allocated to Senegal’s domestic market.
