ABUJA, NIGERIA – Nigerian prosecutors have charged six people, including a retired general and a police officer, with treason over an alleged plot to overthrow President Bola Tinubu.

The charges, filed by the Attorney General at the Federal High Court in Abuja, mark a significant escalation in a case that has simmered since rumours of a coup attempt first surfaced in late 2025.
