Senegal swings to trade surplus as export revenues surge

• Trade balance improves by 500.9bn CFA francs in one month
• Surge in oil and gold exports offsets slump in imports

Dakar, Senegal – Senegal recorded a trade surplus of 84 billion CFA francs in February 2025, a sharp reversal from the 416.9 billion CFA franc deficit posted in January, according to the National Agency for Statistics and Demography (ANSD). The turnaround marks an improvement of over 500 billion CFA francs in just one month.
