  • President Mahama nominates Johnson Asiamah to replace Ernest Addison as central bank governor
  • Addison to begin terminal leave on Feb. 3 before officially retiring on March 28

Accra, Ghana – Ghana’s central bank governor, Dr. Ernest Addison, will retire in March 2025 after eight years in office, with President John Dramani Mahama nominating Dr. Johnson Asiamah as his replacement, pending approval by the Council of State.
