WTO and Afreximbank Join Forces to Boost Cotton Processing in West Africa

  • Agreement aims to develop local and regional cotton value chains in Africa
  • Initiative expected to create half a million jobs and require $5 billion in investments

 

Abuja, Nigeria – The World Trade Organisation (WTO) and the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) have signed a memorandum of understanding to support efforts by four West African cotton producers to enhance their local processing capacities.
