  • Nigeria launches naira-only instant payments to Ghana

LAGOS, NIGERIANigeria has launched a pilot allowing instant, naira-denominated wallet payments to Ghana, cutting hard-currency dependence and lowering cross-border trade costs.

Onafriq Nigeria Payments Ltd, a Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN)-licensed payment service provider, has partnered the Pan-African Payment and Settlement System (PAPSS) to pilot what they describe as Africa’s first wallet-based outbound payments corridor from Nigeria to Ghana.
