Ghana inflation drops to 3.8%, opening door to growth-focused policy

ACCRA, GHANAGhana’s inflation slowed further in January to 3.8%, reinforcing a prolonged disinflation trend and strengthening the case for a shift toward growth-supporting monetary policy.

Data released by the Ghana Statistical Service showed inflation fell sharply from 5.4% in December 2025 and 23.5% in January 2025, representing a 19.7 percentage-point decline over 12 months. Month-on-month inflation stood at 0.2%, indicating only marginal price increases between December and January.
