Accra, Ghana – Political tensions in Ghana have escalated following the arrest of Bernard Antwi Boasiako, known as Chairman Wontumi, a key financier of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP). Wontumi, detained on May 27 by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) over allegations of illegal mining and financial impropriety, is a prominent figure in Ghana’s political and business landscape.
