Lagos, Nigeria – The African Union has proposed a $814 million budget for 2026—an increase of 34% from the previous year—as it looks to expand its institutional footprint and reduce its reliance on foreign donors. The proposal was presented Monday during a joint session of the Permanent Representatives’ Committee Subcommittees and the Committee of Fifteen Ministers of Finance (F15).
