  • First Quantum Minerals launches $1.25bn Kansanshi S3 project to raise annual copper production to 500,000 tonnes
  • Expansion extends mine life by two decades and is set to bolster Zambia’s export earnings

 

LUSAKA, ZAMBIA – Canadian miner First Quantum Minerals has commissioned a $1.25 billion expansion at its Kansanshi mine in Zambia that will nearly double copper production and extend the mine’s lifespan by 20 years.
